I finally got the results back from the competition I entered last month with my local photography guild back in Florida. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the local SWFL chapter (Professional Photographers of Southwest Florida) of the PPA and FPP for the past 4 or 5 years. This year I served as the Vice President and Program Director, but now with my move to Wyoming, I will be stepping down.
Being a part of this group has helped me in all areas of my photography business...but being a part of the competitions we held 3 times a year, definitely helped with me with my skill level. It also allowed...

Christmas is 89 days away! Which means I get to start decorating next month (yes, I decorate super early!!!). Which also means it is time to start thinking about your family portraits for the holidays!
I just took some photos of my niece with all the fall foliage out here in Wyoming and Montana...so if you want those beautiful fall colors in your family portraits, RIGHT NOW is a great time! If you want a snowy theme family photo, I have a feeling we only have to wait a week or two. ;) We can also do studio portraits if you want to keep it inside.
Having trouble figuring out what to wear? ...

So maybe 6 years ago I photographed my friends, Chris and Kim, at the beach, just the two of them (first photo below). And here we are again, back at the beach plus two very adorable little girls! It's fun to see how much can change...even just looking back over this year. Speaking of, where on earth did 2013 go?!
Just before Christmas we headed out to Lighthouse Beach on Sanibel Island for a sunset photoshoot. These two little girls kept me laughing and having such a great time. While one little girl is much more dainty and delicate, not really interested in getting sandy, wet or dirty...the...

And the world welcomes Spencer!
We did all of Spencer's newborn portraits here at my studio...what a gem! She slept like a little angel while we swapped out tutus, hats, and bows. :) Lily (big sister) is so proud of her baby sister and was generous with hugs and kisses for her.
Congratulations Jaime and Clay, love your two precious little girls!
The many faces of Lily...she cracks me up!
I'm pretty sure she was smiling because she loves being photographed! ;)

And once again...I'm a little late on posting these portraits. :-/ I enjoyed meeting this family very much. Both the parents work in creative fields which made it really fun knowing they had a creative eye too. In fact, Gretchen is an amazing painter..check her out: http://www.pawpalettes.com/home .
As I was looking through these I realized one of the locations is no more. The new restaurant, Firestone, has painted the brick wall. Crazy how downtown Fort Myers keeps changing, but it really looks great!

I was able to go visit my dear college friend up in North Carolina last month and meet her 9 month old baby boy for the first time. It was so fun, he was such a little ham!
So as much as I love Florida and the beaches, I have to say the state of NC is quite lovely! I really enjoyed my time up there and was able to take their family portraits in their own backyard. Yes, I know what you are thinking, you'd like to rent out their backyard for your family portraits...well that can be arranged! Haha :)
And to the 'S' family...love and miss you all!
Love baby feet!!!!

Here we are again at Koreshan State Park, a great location for photos! And once again, what a sweet family! One really great thing about location sessions is the freedom the kids have to run around and explore, giving me tons of opportunity to snap away :-) They loved climbing the tree, running around, sitting by the water...and on top of it they didn't mind shooting a few smiles my way to capture! And to the dear Cook family - I loved photographing you all, you are such a sweet family!

I went to High School with Brittany and Zeke and now (many years later!) here they are with two adorable boys! I had the priviledge of photographing their first son, Bryson when he was a baby and wow has time flown, he's grown so much! Both boys were full of smiles and energy, so of course it was a blast capturing all those faces and expressions! Here is Owen's presidential wave!
This was the cutest thing ever! Bryson's parents told me that he is really in to being a construction worker. He plays this all day long, has his "work boots," walkie talkie, etc! So I decided to build him a little...

Kristen shares my same love for photography and capturing every stage of a child's life. She told me photos are very important to her and with the adorable childen she has, I see why! I don't think I can say it enough that I always have so much fun photographing people and Kristen's family was no exception...sweet to the core!
