I just got back from Florida, photographing this gorgeous wedding at the Estero Country Club at the Vines. I do love winter weddings in Florida, such perfect weather and Jodi and Russell's wedding was no exception. They did a First Look, which was great because we were able to utilize A LOT of the scenic grounds around the country club before the ceremony and a few more after. :)
Here's a sneak peek of a few of their portraits...
Congratulations Jodi and Russell...more to come soon!
Cheers,
Alison

I was so humbled and honored to receive once again "Wedding Photographer of the Year" as well as "Commercial Photographer of the Year" with the Professional Photographers of Southwest Florida and "Outstanding Service Award" with the Florida Professional Photographers. This was my last year with the PPSWF and FPP since I've moved out west, so I'm happy to go out with a bang! I told my husband I should get a REALLY big bonus now from my boss (yours truly) and my office Christmas party (consisting of me, the cat, and the dog) is going to be epic, Haha... He's not amused and probably really worried. ...

There's a blizzard going on outside my window, letting me know that fall is long over! But I'm still going to post these fall engagement photos, too pretty not to share. :) Last month I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple off Chief Joseph Scenic Highway (I can see why it's called that, it has become one of my favorite locations!). Since I've been in Florida most of my photography career, I believe this is my first ever engagement session in the fall. I love autumn and the changing of colors! It made for a perfect backdrop for this lovely couple.
So here are a few of my favorites......

I finally got the results back from the competition I entered last month with my local photography guild back in Florida. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the local SWFL chapter (Professional Photographers of Southwest Florida) of the PPA and FPP for the past 4 or 5 years. This year I served as the Vice President and Program Director, but now with my move to Wyoming, I will be stepping down.
Being a part of this group has helped me in all areas of my photography business...but being a part of the competitions we held 3 times a year, definitely helped with me with my skill level. It also allowed...

Preparing for Senior Portraits:
There are lots of lists and tips out there but here are a few things I recommend, as you get ready to have your senior portraits taken.
Find a Photographer. First things first, you need to find the right photographer for YOU! I definitely know my style isn’t for everyone, so it is important you check around and see what you like best. Ask to see the images of an entire senior session (not just the one photo that is on display). It’s also important that you are comfortable with your photographer, someone who puts you at ease. I remember when I was having...

Christmas is 89 days away! Which means I get to start decorating next month (yes, I decorate super early!!!). Which also means it is time to start thinking about your family portraits for the holidays!
I just took some photos of my niece with all the fall foliage out here in Wyoming and Montana...so if you want those beautiful fall colors in your family portraits, RIGHT NOW is a great time! If you want a snowy theme family photo, I have a feeling we only have to wait a week or two. ;) We can also do studio portraits if you want to keep it inside.
Having trouble figuring out what to wear? ...

It's crazy we are already in full swing for our 2015 senior graduates...wow, 2015! Time just keeps flying!
Caleb graduated last year and for his senior photos we did a little variety in our location. I love taking senior photos in a downtown/urban setting because of all the variety it provides...cool old and new buildings, pillars, water, colorful storefronts, etc. Then to end our shoot, we went back to my studio and took a few more. This first photo of him in his football jersey (B&W) is my favorite!
Enjoy these photos as you start getting some ideas for your own senior pictures! ...

Finally catching up on some blogging here and wanted to start with this gorgeous wedding!
Tabitha and Bill's wedding day started out getting ready at the West Bay Club, where their ceremony and reception was held too. Their ceremony was poolside close to sunset. For their portraits we utilized all the grounds! I was super happy that they decided to do some additional portraits on another day so that we could take our time and get lots of variety. I highly recommend this, especially if you're planning a full and busy day of events. Or do a First Look. ;)
I mentioned before when I posted...

Lori and Christopher were such an amazing couple to work with on their big day! They totally just went with whatever the day brought them. For example, in the middle of all the pre-ceremony photos we heard the rain getting closer, so they just decided to do the ceremony ASAP! Which was perfect because we dodged the rain. Phew! :)
Here is a little sneak peek of their beautiful day...
CONGRATULATIONS Lori and Chris! I really enjoyed working with you and capturing your wedding day! More photos coming soon :)
Cheers,
Alison

So my husband and I have officially moved to northwest Wyoming! I've been out here about a month, getting us moved into our new place and getting the lay of the land. I must say, I'm in love. It's amazing to walk out my front door and be surrounded by mountains. A little different than Florida. ;)
(My husband and me in our front yard)
(Our dog Baylie isn't too excited about the scarf I made her wear, but despite that she does like it out here...my cat is another story)
I got a chance to announce it on my facebook page, but didn't get to blog anything on here. These past couple months...
